TRUSTEE BY-ELECTON ON FEBRUARY 27, 2012

 Two trustees are running for by-election since the incumbents were elected to provincial parliament last October.  OSSTF D12, in co-operation with other education workers’ unions and the Campaign for Public Education, has endorsed Mary Hynes in Don Valley East and Sam Sotiropoulos in Scarborough-Agincourt.

 Over the next few weeks, we need to help elect these 2 pro public education advocates as school trustees.  As they face very serious challenges from strong right-wing candidates, we need to ask you to help again.  We need canvassers to go out on weekends.  Please contact vp@pssp.on.ca  if you are available to help canvass either a Saturday or Sunday this month. Spending an afternoon dropping literature, with a fellow OSSTF member,  is an easy way to help candidates who WILL be voting on the TDSB budget and the future of your jobs.

Lieu Day Information

All PSSP members are entitled to one “additional paid holiday from work in each work year”….   This is commonly known as the “lieu day” but that term is not used in our collective agreement (see pgs 69 – 70).  For your secretaries to code it on SAP, it is listed as “Designated Day” and the code is 120.
